About Me

Overland Park, Kansas
My name is Kate, I'm 19 years old, and on March 4th 2010 I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. I was told I had to get my left kidney removed- praise the Lord I have two! A month later they took out my kidney and told me the tumor was benign! I worship a God of miracles! I am a desperately dependent follower of Christ, who feeds on God's Word like manna! I know the healing hand of God and I believe He has plans to prosper me and not to harm me! I started this blog to communicate continued prayer requests, keep people up to date on my health and daily life, and most importantly share how Christ's love is transforming my heart everyday! Thank you for all your support! God Bless! PS I love to know who is reading the blog so comments are much encouraged and loved :)

weekend at the lake

Just got back from the lake! My grandparents live down in shell knob on table rock. We got some great sunbathing done down at the dock and I even managed to catch a couple fish! On Sunday, Meg and I drove down to Kanakuk and visited the Donyes at K2. It was such an amazing day... one of those days you feel like God ordained. We ate coffee cake, went to church, I got to reunite with some of my favorite staff and kampers. It was really neat to talk to all the Kamp people that have been praying for me all spring. Right as Meg and I were about to leave kamp Joe White comes riding down on his 4-wheeler and stops to take a picture of us. When he saw my visitors name tag he said, "Why, you're Kate! Debbie Jo and I have your name right by our bed and we pray for you every night. We keep thanking God that you are healed." I was totally floored!!! Then we stopped and he prayed for me. When we were done he said, "I didn't know if I was going to be able to do that this summer. I'm so thankful I did. God is good!" It was so humbling. I had goosebumps the whole time. It is still amazing to me to hear about all the people who were praying. I am so thankful to have such an amazing community of believers behind me.
